Just tripped over a Mama Cass Elliot song called “There’s a New World Coming,” from 1970, when I was traveling to peace marches in Chicago and Washington DC, part of a movement to end war and embrace humanity. I’ve grown up with love and activism. Thanks to powerful people in my life.

Fast forward 50 plus years and the world is enfolding all around us. Thanks to progressive leaders. Marianne Williamson, one of the best selling spiritual authors in America, the former senior minister of Renaissance Unity in Warren for awhile, just ran for president of United States, on the love and miracles campaign.
“We laid it down in ways that we should all be proud of,” Williamson said in an announcement ending her campaign for president.
What we did, what we could to shed some light on some very darkened times. For that, I will always be so grateful. I take memories into my heart that will last forever.” So will the 11,446 people who voted for her.”
Me included. She’s been healing the soul of America, following the vision set forth by Mama Cass. This is about love. Sometimes it is easy to forget.
Marianne came in kissing range of healing America from the inside out. Bring in the light from the prince of darkness who would put dissenters in prison camp and shoot its leaders. Help us! Marianne Williamson that wants all of us to be our best selves.
Chatted for a long while last night with other friends who sat at one table at Renaissance Unity after hearing Marianne’s sermons in the early 2000s. She ignited so much excitement, so much possibility that we’d chat another two hours over coffee and muffins.
We can’t let that energy go fallow.
I’d urge President Biden to appoint Marianne to a new cabinet post, “The Department of Harmony.” This is someone who would look after the soul, how could we create more peace, more communication among people, more jobs, houses and fewer guns and corruption.
